Oct 2 – A Fishing Village

Paul took this morning’s tour while Mary opted to stay at the hotel.  The tour headed to the coast where he saw lots of fishing boats…

and the village of Betania. The village faced a large sand bar and lagoon with the ocean beyond.

The village itself sat on another sandy area facing the lagoon.

The local restaurant and hotel.

There was a walk along the coastline where he saw colorful Fiddler crabs,

some tiny mud puppies (we think...hard to tell in the mud),

and a chameleon.

He also got a couple of good shots of a Far Eastern Curlew,

a Sandpiper,

They took a canoe ride through the mangroves.

The fishermen were working on their nets and boats.

A starfish.

He was back to the hotel in time for lunch.  We had a lazy afternoon.
