Paul and Tara headed out this morning for an hour drive to a village. Photos along the drive.
An association of the bush camps gives back by supporting local villages. They help with schools and community projects to help the communities.
The village.
Some photos of the villagers.
They were back about lunch time. It was a long morning.
In the afternoon we had another cruise safari. Saw many of the usual sights including more trees in the water.
Nearby fishermen.
A vast number of cormorants settling down for the night among the dead trees.
And elephants along the shoreline.
Sunset.
That evening, while we were waiting for our dinner to be served, the servers started getting a bit excited and huddled along the fence, looking down. They brought out a spotlight and we all got to see what had gotten them excited…a big porcupine drinking at a small waterhole beside the deck. First one we have seen in Africa.
