Some of the beautiful and unusual landscape around our camp.

Today we are headed out for a walk in Isalo National Park. Some rice fields that we saw as we headed into the park...

and a nearby village.

Some beautiful views of the rock as we entered the park.

The walk was relatively flat with only small sets of rocky stairs going up and down the hillside. Saw tons of interesting things.

Net Throwing spider. This one was so well camouflaged that it was impossible to see until the guide poked it a bit with a bit of straw that made it move.

Then we found our primary goal of the day, the white lemur. We had to go off trail only a few yards to get to them. There weren’t a lot but enough to enjoy then.

Just down the trail was a very large family of ring-tailed lemurs cavorting in the trees and along the trail.

We watched them for quite a while. There were a number of year old lemurs and they were playing everywhere and play fighting. Fun to watch.

We also saw a couple of mothers with small babies.

A short hike beyond and we were at a campground where there were more ring-tailed lemurs and a lone brown lemur. A fire had gone through the area not long before and the guides don’t know if the other brown lemurs were killed or moved away. But one lone brown lemur remained and had been adopted by this family of ring-tails. So he wasn’t alone.
